Have you ever observed this universe to see what is perfect here and what is imperfect? The nature around us is so perfect. Look at Sun; it never misses even a single day to rise in the morning. Have you ever seen in your complete lifetime a single day when Sun has not risen? Have you ever seen birds not chattering in the morning? Have you ever seen rivers not flowing? Have you ever seen wind not blowing? These things are doing their work for millions of years and that too so perfectly.
Human beings are born with infinite wisdom but we go on losing our wisdom in collecting knowledge. Wisdom is our intrinsic nature. It has not to be learned, it has not to be searched for, and we have not to go outside seeking for it. It is our innermost core of being.
Gandhi was a strong believer and follower of Non violence. He was the one who started the Non violence act in India and freed India from British rule. Since that period, the country is talking about Non violence. Non violence has been preached over and over again, politically, religiously, by various leaders, but non-violence is not a fact, just an idea, a theory, a set of words. India after thousands of years of suffering, struggle, obeying, accepting, destroying each other is reduced to a wilderness of wild thoughtless human beings, who do not care for the earth, or for the lovely things of the earth, for the beauty of the lake, of the swift running river. None of us seems to care. All that we are concerned with is our own little selves, our own little problems.
One saw a bird dying, shot by a man. It was flying beautifully and with rhythmic beat, with such freedom and lack of fear. And the gun shattered it; it fell to the earth and all the life has gone out of it. A dog fetched it and the man collected other dead birds. He was chattering with his friend and seemed so utterly indifferent. All that he was concerned with was bringing down lot many birds. Man is killing all over the world. The marvelous great animals of the sea, the whales are killed in millions and the tiger, leopard, cheetahs and so many other animals are now becoming endangered species. Man is the only animal that is to be dreaded.
“I am the world and the world is me”, “Human consciousness is world’s consciousness”, “Individual energy is mass energy”. These are certain words that have been said by great people in different way. Let’s try to see this today rationally and objectively.
First of all the earth on which we live is our earth. It is not the British earth, or the German, Russian, Indian, Chinese, it is our earth on which we all are living and this is the fact. But thought has divided it rationally, geographically, culturally, economically and that division is causing havoc in the world. There is no denial to it. It is our earth on which we are all living, but we have divided it – for security, for various patriotic, political, illusory reasons, which eventually bring about war.
Let’s start the article with a story:
Many years, centuries ago, in a certain country there was a great painter. In his youth he decided to create a truly great portrait that radiates the bliss of the divine, a portrait whose eyes radiate infinite peace. So he wanted to find someone whose face communicated something of the beyond, of that which is transcendental to this life, transcendental to this world.
The artist roamed the country, from village to village, from jungle to jungle, in search of such a person, and at long last he came across a shepherd in the mountains with that innocence and light in his eyes, with a face and features that held the promise of some celestial home. One look at him was enough to convince anyone that the divine resides in human beings.
Everything is deeply related with everything else that happens.
The event of terrorism is certainly related with what is happening in the society. The society is falling apart. Its old order, discipline, morality, religion, everything has been found to be wrongly based. It has lost its power over people's conscience.
Terrorism simply symbolizes that to destroy human beings does not matter, that there is nothing in human beings which is indestructible, that it is all matter -- and you cannot kill matter, you can only change its form. Once man is taken to be only a combination of matter, and no place is given for a spiritual being inside him, then to kill becomes just play.
Most of us realize, when we dare look at it, that we are terribly lonely, isolated human beings. Whether we are consciously or unconsciously aware of it, we want to escape from it, because we do not know what lies behind and beyond it; being frightened, we run away from it through attachment, through activity and every form of religious or wordily entertainment. We isolate ourselves by our everyday activities, by our attitude and our way of thinking; although we may have an intimate relationship with somebody, we are always thinking about ourselves. The result of this is more isolation, more loneliness, a greater dependence on outward things, greater attachments and the resultant suffering which arises from it.
I've given you different definitions of sorcery, but I have always maintained that definitions change as knowledge increases. Now you are in a position to appreciate a clearer definition.
When a man has studied the subject of clairvoyance sufficiently to realize that the claims made on its behalf are true, his next enquiry usually is "How can I gain this power for myself? If this faculty be latent in every man, as you say, how can I so develop myself as to bring it into motion, and so have direct access to all this knowledge of which you tell me?" In reply we can assure him that this thing can be done, and that it has been done. There are even many ways in which the faculty may be gained, though most of them are unsafe and eminently undesirable, and there is only one that can be thoroughly and unreservedly recommended to all men alike. But that we may understand the subject, and see where lie the dangers that have to be avoided, let us consider exactly what it is that has to be done.
