In this world, nothing is permanent. The scorching days will always be followed by relieving rains and the immense rains will similarly be followed by beautiful sunshine. But we people forget this thing and keep cursing the scorching days and immense rains. We forget that one thing is beautiful because the other thing is ugly. It is the immense rains that make the sunshine beautiful.

Child for me is

- An essence of love

- Happiness that can be touched, felt

- Pure innocence

- A special one who gives you the pleasure to be called “Parents”

- The one who is absolutely free from all tensions and worries.

- The one who gives smile to everyone and who can bring smile to anyone.

- A gift of God

- A Blessing

The highest virtue in the world is like water: it benefits everything without exciting rivalries. We should be like water, choosing the lowest place which all others avoid.

For our dwelling we should choose the place where we can be of most benefit to others;

1)We should be kind and courteous, always choosing to be with good people.

2)In speech we should only speak words of truth and kindness.

3)In administration we should seek to keep things in peace and order.

4)In affairs we should exercise our best abilities.

For once, a book which really lives up to its title. Hall self-published this massive tome in 1928, consisting of about 200 legal-sized pages in 8 point type; it is literally his magnum opus. Each of the nearly 50 chapters is so dense with information that it is the equivalent of an entire short book. If you read this book in its entirety you will be in a good position to dive into subjects such as the Qabbala, Alchemy, Tarot, Ceremonial Magic, Neo-Platonic Philosophy, Mystery Religions, and the theory of Rosicrucianism and Freemasonry.

This is Rudolph Steiner's guide to the seeker on the path of esoteric initiation. He includes much that would be of use to novices of any mystical belief system, and a lot of tantalizing information about the subtle body, higher planes of existence, and the spiritual encounter with the 'Guardians of the Threshold.'

by Éliphas Lévi
[1922]

This was the first of Lévi's books to be translated into English. The original French version was published in 1856. This translation (by an unknown hand) was first published in 1883 by the Theosophical Society, and re-issued in 1922, with additional extensive footnotes by 'an Eminent Occultist' (herein, E.O.). The identity of E.O. is unknown, but it is believed from the style and views expressed that it was none other than Helena P. Blavatsky.
